RONA inc.: Hull Reno-Depot transitions to the new and improved store model

An investment in excess of $3.7 million to allow for the transformation of the store

Boucherville, QC – May 16, 2018 — Lowe’s Canada, one of Canada’s leading home improvement company, is proud to announce that the renovation works at the Hull District Reno-Depot store, located at 95 rue Atawe in Gatineau, are now complete. The Hull store is the banner’s first location to transition to the new and improved Reno-Depot store concept—just in time for its 20th anniversary.

Thanks to an investment in excess of $3.7 million, the store underwent a major transformation to provide local retail customers, contractors and professionals with an unequalled shopping experience. The 12 week makeover included redesigning all departments, introducing enhanced services, and revamping signage. Ultimately, the expanded store offering will result in the creation of approximately ten jobs.

"This year, the Reno-Depot banner is celebrating its 25th anniversary and entering a new stage of its history with the introduction of an improved store concept. At the Hull store, you will find the essence of a traditional Reno-Depot store, more open spaces, and new product categories, particularly in the appliances and seasonal departments," said Denis Pascal, Divisional Vice President, Operations at Reno-Depot. "Since its opening in April 1998, this store is known for its impeccable customer service. Robert Desjardins’ seasoned team remains committed to this track record by offering a lager product assortment—at the best price—to provide customers in the area with an exceptional shopping experience."

The improved store is in line with the company’s aim to provide consumers in the greater Gatineau area with a richer home improvement offering. A pillar of the banner within a 100 km radius, the Reno-Depot store in Hull includes a 110,000 square foot sales floor and a 30,000 square foot garden centre. It employs 140 people, including around 20 employees who have been with the store since its opening.

Retail customers and professionals benefit from an enhanced product and service offering
In addition to the complete product assortment available at renodepot.com through the Click. Buy. Renovate. program, customers who visit the new Reno-Depot store in Charlemagne will have access to over 25,000 products in store, including the widest selection of appliances in the area. This product category is growing fast in Reno-Depot stores across Quebec and includes major brands such as KitchenAid, Frigidaire Pro, GE Café, and Cavavin. In all, more than 4,500 new products have been introduced in the home appliance, seasonal, flooring, interior finishing, finish plumbing, kitchen, and landscaping departments. Furthermore, the store includes specialty departments for building supplies, doors and windows, bathrooms, plumbing, heating, hardware, storage, and paint.

In addition to the materials required for all types of projects, including hundreds of products available via special orders, the Hull Reno-Depot store offers its customers a wide range of consulting services and turnkey home improvement project solutions. Whether they are looking to repair a roof, remodel a kitchen, upgrade a bathroom, or replace doors and windows, customers will be supported at every stage of the project—from concept to installation.

Contractors and professional customers in the area benefit as well. They have access to a reserved entrance that opens at 6 a.m. from Monday to Saturday, in addition to direct truck delivery to work sites.
